We've established these House Rules so that everyone can get the most out of the DIPEx Message Boards. These Rules protect all users by making sure the boards are safe and useful for everyone. If users do not follow these rules they will risk suspension of their account.

In order to use these forums, users are required to provide a username, password and e-mail address. DIPEx is not responsible for the privacy practices of any user.

We cannot reply to specific medical queries on the DIPEx website and advice found here should not be used as a substitute for medical advice. DIPEx does not accept any liability to any person who does rely on the content of this website.

Please do not mention individuals e.g. health professionals, family members by name and please do not mention the names of hospitals, doctors surgeries or other treatment centres.

Be patient: users of all ages and abilities may be taking part in the relevant DIPEx Community.

Contributions must be constructive and polite, not mean-spirited or contributed with the intention of causing trouble.

We do not allow unlawful or objectionable content: harassing, defamatory, abusive, threatening, harmful, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, racially offensive or otherwise objectionable material is not acceptable.

If you use multiple logins for the purpose of disrupting the community or annoying other users you may have action taken against your accounts.

No spamming or off-topic material: we don't allow the submission of the same or very similar contributions many times. Please don't re-submit your contribution to more than one discussion, or contribute off-topic material in subject-specific areas.

No advertising

Contributions containing languages other than English may be removed

No impersonation

No inappropriate (e.g. vulgar, offensive etc) user names.

Deliberate misuse of the complaints facility is not permitted. If you persist in doing this action may be taken against your account.

Remember you do not know who is reading what you write.

We advise that you never reveal any personal information about yourself or anyone else (for example: telephone numbers, home address or email address)

• You may not submit any defamatory or illegal material of any nature in the DIPEx Community. Contributing material with the intention of committing or promoting an illegal act is strictly prohibited.
• You agree to only post materials, which are your own original work. You may not violate, plagiarise, or infringe on the rights of third parties including copyright, trademark, trade secret, privacy, personal, publicity, or proprietary rights.
• If you are under 16, please get your parents' permission before taking part in any DIPEx discussion.

• If you fail to abide by these House Rules when taking part in the DIPEx community, you will be sent an e-mail, which informs you why your contribution has been failed or edited.
• This mail will also include a warning that continuing to break the rules may result in action being taken against your account or accounts.

• This action may include your relevant account or accounts being placed into pre-moderation or a temporary or permanent suspension of your ability to participate in the DIPEx community.
• If you post or send offensive or inappropriate content anywhere on the DIPEx community or otherwise engage in any disruptive behaviour we will remove it and suspend your DIPEx account immediately.

These forums give users two options for changing and modifying information that they provide in their profile:

1. Users can login with their username and password to change any information in their profile.
2. In case of lost password, users can send an e-mail to forumAdmin@dipex.org
